The Race Trail

Bootleg Sled Dog Races Trail Map.

All race trails start and end at the Bootleg Gap Golf Course Clubhouse. The Junior, 2-mile trail (red), starts at the south end of the Clubhouse parking lot and terminates at the concession stand. The 4-dog, 4-mile and Skijoring trail runs the Junior trail then splits off before the concession stand (blue) and terminates southeast of the Clubhouse. The 6-dog, 6-mile trail runs the Junior trail and 4-mile trail then splits off (red) before returning to the Clubhouse to extend the distance, terminating northeast of the Clubhouse.

The Junior trail is relatively flat with slow, gentle turns. The 4-mile trail, after covering the Junior Trail, presents a greater change in elevation and challenge for mushers. The last 2 miles of the 6-dog trail offers the greatest change in elevation and scenic travel along the St. Mary's River. All trails will be well groomed and marked for easy navigation through the race course.
