The Race is Cancelled

The 2012 edition of the Bootleg Sled Dog Races scheduled for February 4th and 5th have been cancelled due to poor trail conditions, lack of snow and no appreciable amount of snow in the forecast. Registered participants, sponsors and volunteers will be notified as quickly as possible. The Bootleg Sled Dog Race Society apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Brenda Birrell.

Bootleg Sled Dog Races - Bootleg Mountain BC The 3rd annual Bootleg Sled Dog Races are in the books and we had as near to perfect conditions as possible for both competitors and spectators. We received very positive reviews from all on the changes this year to the course on the first two corners and the race organization. Once again we had a family member come forward and speak about the impact the East Kootenay Friends of Children have on families in the region. To date the organization is supporting 100 families in the area. The competitors, volunteers and crowds enjoyed a great weekend and although attendance was down everyone spent more dollars per person in all areas to show their support for the event and charity. Thank you to all the competitors, sponsors and volunteers!
